This is a great site for hunting around for the various species of Littorinids (periwinkles), Crassostrea gigas (Portuguese oyster), and is especially good for crabbing for Carcinus maenas (Green Shore Crab).

*Look in this area for Cerastoderma edule (edible cockle) and Lanice conchilega (sand mason).  If you visit on a day that is not too busy then you may be lucky enough to see some wading birds such as Oyster Catchers or Egrets feeding.

*Bateman's Tower.  Great views over the Colne estuary can be seen from this vantage point.

*Look around the artificial structures here for Patella vulgata (common limpet), Crepidula fornicata (slipper limpet) and Hydrobia spp (Mud Snails).
