This periwinkle is very similar to L.obtusata but with an aperture larger than it’s body whorl and an even flatter spire. Unfortunately the identification between species is not exact unless a dissection of a sexually mature adult is carried out. Found on brown marine alga especially Fucus serratus on which it feeds and breeds. The deposited egg masses are gelatinous and similar again to that of L.obtusata.
